Via Boing Boing, a collection of Soviet era holiday cards. I like this one because it reminds me of Maurice Sendak’s In the Night Kitchen. Happy Holidays, Comrades!

    While it is usually translated as “goodbye”, ?? ????????, is literally until [our next] meeting, but ? ????? ?????, anyway.

    While it is usually translated as “goodbye”, do svidaniya, is literally “until [our next] meeting”, but S novym godom, anyway.

    Wordpress doesn’t handle Cyrilic or Chinese very well. There may be a language plug in that I could find but I write so few posts in Russian.
